Teachings on/about Prayer

It's my personal opinion that Paul Scanlon is one of the most reliable & challenging thinkers of our time when it comes to understanding contemporary church culture. Have a look and a listen to him as he shares some insights into that most famous of scriptures Acts 2:42

What to pray;

When you can't pray;

When you can't think of what to pray for.

A friend shared this with me once; I had all but forgotten it until recently when my prayer had become dry & stale. He said if you are in that place, try this. It combines reverence with silence. I am going to start practising it again. Will you join me?

The Prayer of the three bows.

(That's bows as in "bow your head" not bows as in "ribbons & bows"

After each line of prayer, you are meant to bow your head for 30 seconds to a minute

Bow #1:

I bow my head in respect, love & reverence, to the Jesus that I will see in all of creation this day.

(bow for 30 seconds to a minute)

Bow #2:

I bow my head in respect, love & reverence, to the Jesus that I will see, in every person that I meet and talk to today......

Bow #3:

I bow my head in respect, love & reverence, to the Jesus that I will encounter within myself today...

Simple hey?
