Rod Blakemore

1. How are you coping during this second lock down?

2.What is your view on wearing a mask?

I do wear one, but would rather not.

3. Have you been to the testing station at LinC in Yarra Junction (or anywhere else for that matter)

Yes, about 6 weeks ago— They tried to poke a couple of holes in my brain but couldn’t

find one....ha!ha!

4. How have you been amusing yourself?

Mostly reading & going to Woolies to stock up. Not very interesting but it gets me out

of the house.

5.What have you missed?

Meeting with friends - at church, at table tennis, & in friends homes.

6. What is a positive for you right now?

That I am healthy & that God has everything under His control.

7. What does the future look like for you?

Praying that God will guide the Elders find R. V. C. someone who will be able to draw us together & teach us how to live through teaching God’s Word.

8.Are you watching more TV this time is s0, what is your "go to" program?

There are 4 Religious programs televised each Sunday morning : 1, Joseph Prince,

2,  "Leading the Way": with Michael Youssef,  3, "Turning Point” with Dr. David Jeremiah,

4, “In touch ministries” with Dr. Charles Stanley. I record them before going to bed on Saturday night, I can then watch them at my leisure over the next couple of days or so.
I also watch whatever football match is being televised, & very sad they rarely play Carlton matches.  As well I enjoy any film that shows animal films - ie: Africa, Zoos,

India wild life, & Ocean wildlife : Sharks, Whales, Dolphins, Penguins etc.

9.Do you have any words of encouragement for your RVC family?

Good advice I have read lately re churches: with tongue in cheek. 1, How many church members have been starched & ironed without being washed? 2, The great task of the church is not only to get sinners into heaven, but saints out of bed. 3, The church is the only co-operative society that exists for the benefit of non-members. 4, The test of a church is not the kind of people it attracts, but the kind of people it producers.
5, Before the church service, speak to God; during the service let God speak to you; when the service is over, speak to others. 6, The best remedy for a sick church is to give it Bible study therapy, encourage evangelistic exercise & put it on a missionary diet. 7, Two things ruin a church: loose living & tight giving.

10. What prayer do I pray these days?
I have photo-copied a prayer that I wrote in my journal back on the 4th June 2003. How I wish I could say I live up to it today - It’s my prayer today that I will.

Thank you Rod
