At River Valley, we believe Easter to be a season of the highest significance, both to us and to the wider church community. Whilst we always work to make every Sunday gathering unique and special, we have always sought to go the extra mile with our effort and our planning for the Easter Celebrations of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
The current health crisis has given all of our lives a moment of pause that we weren't expecting. When as a church we were considering what to do about Easter in 2020, our primary thought was that it was too special a service just to shelve and forget about.
Our commitment then is that once this health crisis has settled and the restrictions on gathering have been lifted, we will then have two weekends in a row where we remember Christ and the cross, His death and resurrection. We will start this next season in our church life by telling that greatest of all stories about hope, love and salvation.
As Easter approaches here is an Easter poem by Helen Steiner Rice
An Easter Wish
Here's hoping that your Easter
Is delightful from the start -
A day that's filled with happiness
And sunshine in your heart
And may the special warmth you show
Return to you all year
To brighten days in many ways
And fill your life with cheer!
Watch this space. Make sure you plan to join us.
